Baby quilts I made last night and finished today for two of Teah's friends who are having their baby showers together Saturday evening. I also Monogramed the monkey quilt but it was in red and you would be able to see it as well.
I love to sew just about anything. I also do lots of crafts and painting shabby chic. Sewing is something I've been since I was 11 years old. I made my first quilt top out of neon cotton material back in the 60's and now my daughter is the proud owner of the quilt. I make I Spy Quilts, I Spy Bags, Tooth Fairy Pillows, girls clothing, crayon aprons, pin cushions, just about anything. Sewing just gives me peace of mind and puts me in a comfort mode.

These are a few more pictures of my fishing trip:) We got in the water right before sunrise and it was beautiful. I caught around 25 fish including a black drum, red drum, puffer, pin, spot, whiting, and something we weren't sure what it was. I had the best 3 days and I thank my daughters boyfriend Andy for taking me out and I can't wait until we go again. Even being in the tail of a tornado that we found out later with rain, lighting, wind, hail and waves in the waterway 3 to 5 feet and you couldn't see in front of you and two or so miles ahead of us to the landing dock.. Andy didn't have one bit of fear in him as he was calm and I kept calm. I guess that's the Army in him and two years of being around me:)

I've been busy making pincushions, angels, tutu's and pacifier holders. The pacifier holders are made from flowers, beads and bows. They have been so much fun to design. I'm planning on making 20 of them all different for the craft fair. My husband came to the beach Thursday so I've not been able to do a lot of sewing. We did have several cookouts with our friends and took our boat out fishing without catching any but we had fun:) Have a wonderful Sun. and I will be visiting your blogs today, can't wait.

I love Craigslist!!! I took a different way to the beach to go look at this listing and I'm glad I did all of this for $34.00. All of it is new in packages. The buttons 26 packs sells for $2.29 each at Michaels. The flowered ribbon is what I'm using on my items I'm making and I'll show you later as I was so excited to show you my deal of the day:)

I thought I'd share some of my favorites at my beach home. Each summer I try to do a redo to a room and last year was the living rooms turn. I painted the blue chest and put white as the background to make the color pop. I added the seashell fountain this year and I've really enjoyed the way it sounds so much that I bought my Dad one:)

I finished my sign today as my neighbor screwed the buttons and scissors on and had this steel stand he was going to throw away. A couple of weeks ago I showed 2 skirts that I was going to make over. So here is one as I made it unto a pillowcase dress. I love taking something and redoing it. Tomorrow I'll show you the quilts I finished today!

I just had to share my finds for the day on my way to the beach. The bottom baby set that I don't need but bought as it was new and only $2.00. The cream thing the lady said was her Christmas tree skirt and that it was Victorian and for a $1.00 I bought it. The top picture is my finds at the Fancy Fllea. For $22.00 I bought these neat wooden containers to put my craft and sewing items in at the Southport Craft Fair. I also bought the small quilt for $3.00 to put inside the wooden crate. I do have to do some work on the quilt.

This is the pieces to the quilt that I've been making for a while. I haven't been able to find the backing to match it as the colors are always off. When I bought the bathroom curtain I loved the way they added different textures to it. I found a small pack that matches the material off of Ebay that I can add other textures to now. Now that the bathroom has these colors in it and looking at some of your blogs I really want to finish this quilt and go to my Thrift Stores and find things that I could also put in the bedroom that are timeless and pink:) I can't wait to go back to your blogs and see what else motivates me!!
